Fabulous Health Benefits of Asparagusasapagus solo soaraya

Holas my dear green darlings!

This is how I greet this wonderful serving of sautéed asparagus!

Now you know on my Soraya Sobreidad’s FIERCE Cooking Show, I have a selection that never ends (thank Mama Nature) of what I call, Super Disco Foods!

Foods packed with punch, color, taste and nutrition! Asparagus is one of those fabulous foods!

Green, firm and majestic, shaped like a spear with its lovely tip, asparagus is an easy food to slide into your diet!

I have always loved asparagus. My introduction was the canned version in my days of youth and wonder. It was not till I started “chefing it out as a fierce ruling cooking show Diva” that I started preparing fresh asparagus. What a difference! I can’t go back to canned!

It’s delicious. I saute it a bit with olive oil cooking spray and spices. Delightful.

Recently I discovered not only is it tasty, but it’s a terrific diuretic. I am down for that! Being the weight loss Queen that I am, I am down for a natural diuretic.

However, Mr. Papi Asparagus has even more muscle than that! Asparagus is a great antioxidant, rich in fiber as well.

Other possible health benefits are that it helps decrease the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and overall mortality while promoting a healthy complexion and hair, (word) increased energy and overall lower weight.

I’m so about all of that my dears!

Asparagus is one of the best natural sources of folate. Folate may help ward off depression by preventing an excess of homocysteine from forming in the body, which can block blood and other nutrients from reaching the brain.

That as well is so fabulous of Mr. Papi Asparagus!

Other wonderful things about him is that he is loaded with nutrients! Asparagus is a very good source of vitamins A, C, E and K, as well as chromium, a trace mineral that enhances the ability of insulin to transport glucose from the bloodstream into cells.

 

Between asparagus and pineapple, I adore these two foods! Bromelain in pineapple helps with skin health and beauty. “The Green Giant Spear of Asparagus” is a natural water pill! I am so set! My skin looks lovely and no one should be around when I go the bathroom as asparagus does make…well we won’t say right now!
